Hunan-Egyptian Enterprises Online Matchmaking Conference Kicks off

An online matchmaking and exchange conference between Hunan and Egyptian enterprises was held on April 7, 2025, with the theme of "Trade Promotion Towards a Win-win Cooperation". The meeting was jointly organized by the Hunan Provincial Committee of the China Democratic National Construction Association (CDNCA), the Hunan Sub-council of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), and the Federation of Egyptian Industries (FEI).

The event was held through both online and offline channels, setting up two venues in Changsha, Hunan and Cairo, Egypt. An array of high-quality enterprises from Hunan and Egypt made on-site promotions and carried out in-depth exchanges on technical cooperation and market expansion.

Egypt is the third largest economy in Africa and a partner country of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). The country's demand for industrialization and upgrading has a high degree of compatibility with Hunan's industrial advantages. In 2024, Hunan's trade with Egypt totaled 241 million USD, with electrical and electronic equipment, machinery, and medical precision devices as the main trading products. Hunan enterprises such as Sany Group and Zoomlion Agricultural Machinery have been deeply involved in the construction of the new administrative capital of Egypt and the Suez Canal Corridor.

Hunan and Egyptian enterprises reached a number of documents of intent for cooperation at the meeting.

Egypt is believed to be one of the ideal pivot points for Hunan enterprises to explore emerging markets. It was expected to be a starting point to actively explore the new cooperation mode of "technology plus market" and "production capacity plus resources", integrating the "strength" of Hunan industrial chain with the "new" market space of Egypt.

The event was one of a series of campaigns by the CDNCA Hunan Provincial Committee to help enterprises go global. The CDNCA Hunan Provincial Committee organized nearly 20 representatives of member enterprises to participate in the meeting, covering materials, household appliances, medical care, equipment manufacturing and other key areas. In the future, the CDNCA Hunan Provincial Committee will further enhance the "online plus offline" long-term matchmaking mode, building a new bridge for cooperation between Hunan and Egypt, and assisting Hunan enterprises in exploring the African market.

A spokesperson for the CCPIT Hunan Sub-council noted that the council will establish mechanisms for regular mutual visits and sharing of economic and trade information with the Egyptian business communities. The council will regularize the hosting of multi-bilateral economic and trade cooperation matchmaking sessions, and continue to build international collaboration platforms for relevant enterprises, so as to better help Hunan entrepreneurs and enterprises go global.
